Home Service - Live
Hailsham Pavilion
Friday 25th May 2012 - 7.30pm

John Tasms wrote the songs for the internationally successful stage play and the War Horse production, which is now enjoying extended runs in the West End, Broadway and in Toronto, with tours planned for America and Europe. This reunion of the Home Service band has come about after last year’s discovery of some previously unheard live recordings. The recordings, made at the Cambridge Folk Festival in 1986, exhibit a power and commitment that was never fully captured in the studio, so a live album release immediately became inevitable. With everyone truly inspired by the might of these recorded performances, Home Service is once again back in business and back on the road.

Planting the Jubilee Oak and burying the Time Capsule
Rushlake Green
7.00pm Saturday 20th October 2012

Hi everybody – remember back in June when we had The Tea Party on the Green to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee and we planned to plant a tree and bury a Time Capsule? We all agreed that the autumn was the best time to give a young Jubilee Oak tree a good start!  We also thought it might be good to coincide it with the Bonfire Club’s annual event. Well the time has crept up on us and we find the Bonfire will take place on Saturday 20th October. So, at short notice, we plan to complete the final part of the Jubilee Celebration on The Green at 7 pm and then go on to the Bonfire! A perfect way to spend a Saturday evening and wrap up the Jubilee Celebration – See you there!

Martyn Joseph
Live at the Hailsham Pavillion
Saturday 20th April 7.30pm

Martyn Joseph doesn't do the insignificant, his work has to be serious, and his particular strength is in the lyrical narrative of his songs, be they contemporary protests against injustice and inhumanity, or a piercing précis of social history This is clearly illustrated by his song "Five Sisters", an incredibly moving response to the true story of a Palestinian father whose five daughters were killed by an Israeli rocket. But sometimes you get fun too..... Seats cost £17.50 and are available from the Pavilion box office or online. For performance dates and times go to the Pavillion Website www.pavilionhailsham.co.uk or CLICK HERE To make a booking call the Box Office on 01323 841414.
