The Big Lunch on Rushlake Green is a fantastic way to bring everyone from the local community together for a relaxed, entertaining and very sociable shared experience. So we’re all hugely disappointed to hear that this cherished event won’t be possible this summer. We understand this is due to very depleted numbers in the organising team, who also found themselves unable to source a music band for entertainment, as their usual performers were unavailable. 
The team are however very much hoping to hold an event in 2026 and would be very happy to hear from anyone who would be interested in joining the team and helping to run the event.
The Big Lunch is a great day out for those attending, but for those who put the event together it is a major organisational challenge. It involves months of planning and preparation – and relies on an army of volunteers to put everything in place in the days and hours leading up to the celebration itself. So whatever your skills or abilities, the Big Lunch team would welcome your help in getting the show (literally) back on the road in 2026.
We very much hope that lots of people will come forward with offers of support and help for this community event organised entirely by local people.
