Beekeeping enthusiast Kirsty Gearing will be hosting a Bees & Honey charity event at the Dunn Village Hall on Saturday 4th March. This forms part of Kirsty’s  fundraising efforts for Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice. Kirsty is also doing a 180ft abseil down Arundel Castle tower on 25th March and has set herself a £500 fundraising target on her JustGiving page (see below) for that and thought she’d do a ticketed event to try and raise more funds.
As a hobby beekeeper, and lover of honey, Kirsty thought it would be nice to organise an event where she could share her passion for both of these. She will be showing a short film about honeybees, giving a short talk about bees and honey, and then taking people through a guided honey tasting.

There will be a raffle, with all raffle ticket proceeds going to the charity. Refreshments, including a very special sparkling mead, will be available to purchase at the end of the evening and she will also have a table with a small selection of jars of honey and sparkling mead for sale.

Tickets cost £15, £5 of which goes direct to the charity (the remainder covers the costs of 4 different honeys for tasting, the tasting kits, venue hire, raffle prizes and so on), tickets must be purchased in advance of the event, from Kirsty on 07738 867 543. She has only 40 tickets available.
