Amongst the frenzy of chatter about Corona virus, two sources can be relied upon for practical advice. The Government website page (https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response) gives links to amongst other things, the NHS pages, the government action plan and Public health England’s blog about its response to the outbreak. It is also useful to note that NHS 111 is no just the phone service to use if you are worried you have the virus, but also an online service (111.nhs.uk) albeit that the online COVID-19 support seems currently to be focused primarily on those that can identify a potential source of infection (ie Travelled abroad recently or been in contact with a person at risk). We assume this will evolve as the dynamics of the outbreak change. Above all the advice is to keep washing hands and NOT to go to the doctor’s surgery or A&E if we think we have COVID-19 symptoms.
