Everyone in Rushlake Green and it’s surrounding areas will agree that the Rushlake Green Village Stores has been a vital lifeline throughout these troubled and challenging times. So it’s great, and well-deserved, that Tony is one of just nine people selected for special recognition as a community hero. The Chairman of Wealden District Council has awarded special recognition to individuals and community groups for their outstanding help, neighbourliness, contribution and service throughout the Covid-19 lock down period and beyond. And the Rushlake Green Village Stores goes from strength to strength. Tony say’s he’s opening the post office on Sundays during December to make it easier for people to post stuff and access post office services throughout the week. Christmas stock is beginning to appear on the shelves and Tony clearly relishes the task of seeking out Christmas treats that can’t be found elsewhere. This includes ‘Tony’s Chocolonely’ which, as you’d expect from Tony, is from a company promoting ethical chocolate production. And it’s delicious too, so you can indulge, guilt free.
