Local organiser Karen Upfield would like to hear from you if you’d be interested in joining a small volunteer leadership team to help Ukrainian families here in our immediate area?
Karen tells us:
“Surrounding areas in Wealden have area coordinators in their local communities – forming a vital ‘knowledge hub’. This enables other group & community leaders from wider afield to liaise with Heathfield & surrounding villages, to share resources and information at a leadership level. Liaising with local government at a Parish, Wealden, East Sussex & MP level may also be involved. Would you like to join a small team to help facilitate this? It’s completely separate (but complimentary to) the existing online Facebook group of 250+ hosts and their guests in this area. Your role can be as little or much as you like (approx 2hrs a week.) – all you need is to be friendly, willing and have a heart for Ukraine, and to enjoy sharing information and connecting at a leadership level. I’m very happy to have a chat, as without this vital role being filled our support for hosts and guests will be less than is up and running in surrounding villages, which would be a shame.”
