Green Shoots - Spring 2014

As spring is definitely sprung, we thought we'd come out of hybernation for a while.

Crime to watch out for

We learn that unfortunately there has been a spate of thefts from sheds, barns and land - including a theft of parts from a Land Rover. The local police team at Heathfield are well aware of the problem and are asking residents to be extra vigilant. If you spot a suspicious van or vehicle, particulary at night, its worth taking a note of the vehicle description and licence plate as this could be invaluable if a theft is later found to have taken place. Here's a reminder of the contact details of our local police team at Heathfield. Our local support is provided by PC Will Sergi and PCSO Iain Tomsett. Iain is also responsible for communicating with, and supporting, the local Neighbourhood Watch groups that relate to Cowbeeech, Stunts Green, Herstmonceux, Warbleton and Rushlake Green. Iain can be contacted at: Tel: 101 Ext. 568700 Mobile: 077876 85754 Twitter: @sussex_police. http://www.sussex.police.uk/

Rogers and Hammerstein return to the Green

In May the Village Players will be staging 'Carousel' in the Dunn Village Hall.  This popular musical features such well known songs as "You'll never walk alone", "If I loved you" and "June is bustin' out all over". In 1999, time magazine, in its "Best of the Century" list, named Carousel the Best Musical of the 20th century, writing that Rodgers and Hammerstein "set the standards for the 20th century musical, and this show features their most beautiful score and the most skillful and affecting example of their musical storytelling".

The production runs from Wednesday 14th to Saturday 17th May 2014. Priority ticket sales, for 'members' of the Village Players, in the village hall on Sat 26th and Sun 27th and sales to the public begin online (for the first timer!) on 28th April. For more details click here.
