Le Marche arrive'

As if you could forget. Le Marche returns to Heathfield on Monday 29th August 2011. Station Road will be blocked off as usual.

We learn that as part of the preparations for the opening on the new Sainsbury store, on the budgens site in Heathfield, the car park behind will be closed for a while to allow refurbishment.

Equine debate

The meeting, on Wednesday 17th August at the Star Inn, Old Heathfield, was well attended. The subject of the meeting was the imminent downgrading of the Restricted Byway from Cade Street to Three Ways (Heathfield 29 ab&c, 37a, and Warbleton 85 a&b) to Footpath Status. The Flower Show

For many the highpoint of the Rushlake Green calendar. Organised by the Warbleton and District Horticultural and Poultry Society, the Flower Show took place this year on Saturday 30th July 2011.

Because we're worth it!

How much is this website worth to our local community? A donation of just £12 or £24 to our Village Leaf Fund, would really help with our out-of-pocket techonology expenses such as continual domain renewals etc. Any donation would be much appreciated. Cheques payable to 'Village Leaf Fund', c/o Nigel McKeeman, Tudor Cottage, Rushlake Green, E Sussex, TN21 9QD.

Southern Water make-over campaign.

Many people have contacted us about the unsightly appearance of 'pumping station 2', south of the village. Southern Water has been asked to come up with a plan to disguise the ugliness of the pump 'kiosk' and the rather industrial concrete plinth. If you want to add your voice to the campaign to restore that part of the village landscape please contact Mike Smythe at the Old Barn ( email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
